The Bride

Something about Maui draws honeymooners and couples to the
island to renew their vows, so it was only inevitable that I painted a
bride. My father thinks she looks like Maria Montez, a Hollywood
movie star of the 1930’s and 40’s.

It took me a whole year to paint this, as I took my time in
decorating background of the figure. After framing the painting and
dropping it off at the gallery, I was told that within an hour it was
sold -- to a Long Island couple.
