Unlike the usual methods being
taught where you draw the
subject matter and paint each
area like a coloring book, in
my classes there is no need to
draw in most cases. The
absence of boundaries frees
your mind and allows you to
paint with a sure, relaxed hand.

I teach based on the principle that
painting watercolor is a dance
between you and the medium.
There may be guidelines to follow,
but the dance is fun. There is a flow
about this interplay that is
spontaneous, and makes painting
refreshing and satisfying.
The class begins with a series of
studies -- where I demonstrate
each technique and you practice it
till you gain confidence. Then you
implement what you've learned and
complete a painting you can be
proud of by the end of the 3-hour
class.
